I have a new 2008 Toyota Camery. I live in Canada where we have lots of snow and we use a lot of salt.

I have been using a an oil spry for rust preventions from a company called Krown Rust protectins. It seem to work well BUT it drips for month and is very messy.

What do you recommend.

I would use a good quality undercoating,there are kits you can get that come with a spray wand that you can use to get up inside of hard to reach places. If you look around there are some places that offer the undercoat service. There is also a product that is called amber honey coat that is kind of like what you are describing its kind of oily, waxy and it is runny but it works well.

I would not put a spray undercoating on the vehicle. Frequent trips to the car wash will do just as well. You could use WD-40 as a spray for areas under the car that you feel may become prone to rust. It will help drive moisture out. Keep a good coat of wax on the painted body surfaces and the car should give you long service.

The head of corrosion research for the Air Force, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH, told me a number of years ago that Ziebarting a car worked. He said it's best to get undercoating done at the factory (not the dealership), so moisture and dirt don't develop unseen rust between the metal and the coating. Having it done at the factory ensures the metal surface is clean for the protectant to adhere to. Still, he thought Ziebart had a good aftermarket program. Undercoating does add weight, however, and lowers gas mileage.

I agree ziebart is a good product. I have saw a lot of older cars that were ziebarted and they just don't have the rust problems like the cars that haven't been treated.
