Hi, brelee!

What kind of international trade is it that you would like to do, please? It would be helpful if we could have some additional details from you here.

Thanks!

We specialize in exporting solid wood furniture.
Our product is special because it is made from reclaimed ship wood. I do think the furniture is rarity and testful. However, I am not sure whether there is any potential buyers. It seems like the general furniture retailer shows nothing interesting in our product.

My salary depends on how many order I can receive.I have been in our company for 4monthes and cannot find even one buyer. I feel so dispointed and upset...

Thanks for the further explanation as to what you do, brelee!

Do you know if you are allowed to advertise on your own, for the sake of your job, outside of any advertising that the company already does?

Thanks!

NO, there is no adv budget for me. What I can do is searching the retailer of target market with search engine and then send the email to them. I sent more than one hundred emails about our company profile with our product pictures on it ,but get little reply...

I don't know what's the problem.Maybe the information I found has not significant pertinency. I cannot give up and I have to keep search for...

Thanks for your prompt reply

Hi, brelee!

I'm not talking about doing any advertising that will even cost you or your company a penny! What I was wondering was, if you are allowed to advertise on your own, for the sake of your job, outside of any advertising that the company already does?

That's all that I was asking. Wasn't talking about if you had a budget for advertising or not.

I have a number of small businesses that I run. Most of my business comes from the free advertising that I have placed on the Internet. If I was promoting or selling products of any kind, then I'm sure that I would also be getting excellent results.

If you are allowed to advertise on your own, and would like to know how to most effectively advertise on the Internet so that your products will get the most exposure, please let me know.

Thanks!

The quote in the next post after this, is from answers that I've placed on other threads of this site. Some of the sites listed operate on an international level. All of the sites listed have the potential to get excellent exposure. There are also many free as well as pay advertising sites out there that don't get very good exposure.

It's important to word ads so that they get the most exposure when people do searches for what you might want to sell or the services that you provide. If you would like help in how to word your ads, please let me know.

Quoted from other answers that I've already given.

You do need to advertise. One of things that I do for a living is that I am a house painter. I really don't get many calls from my Yellow Page ads. But, most of my new business is from ads that I place on the Internet. The following is from an answer that I have already placed elsewhere on this site.

There are many places where you can have a free website or blog where you could advertise your business or anything else for that matter. Some of them can be found by clicking on the following searches.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=Free+Website (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=Free+Website)

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Free+Blog (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Free+Blog)

Although I am in the Yellow Pages of the local phone book, most of my new business comes from the free ads that I have placed on the Internet in some way. It does take some time to set things up. But, once you have done it, you are set. You just need to keep track of when you might need to renew your ads. Some of them will let you know when it's time to renew, and most of them won't On some free advertising sites, your ads might not need to be renewed for years. For others, it ranges from maybe 14 days to 90 days.

I copy and paste what I have advertised into a message in my Drafts folder in the email program that is my primary one, and that would be Outlook Express. I also have a file in my email program that is titled "Passwords." It includes all passwords used as well as user names. Not all sites are going to let you use the same password, and the user name that you select might not be available on a particular site.

A really important thing to remember when doing online advertising is that it's not necessarily your name or the name of your business that people are going to be looking for, but what you do and where you are located. So, how you word your ad and the additional keywords that you use in it are very important. Google doesn't look for repeated words in site. However, some other search engines do.

There are a host of free advertising sites available. Most of the best ones that get the best exposure are on the following list. I have been doing online advertising for over three years now. It has paid off...

One time, someone found me looking for goats in Iowa. They are an animal rescue. They saw my ad on a site where one of my piano tuning ads was located and decided that they wanted to have their piano tuned.

I love it when people find me by accident! It could happen for you too with your business!

I do also frequently drive around and post my small advertising "shingle" with the pull-off tabs anyplace where I can find a free, public bulletin board where I can post them. These can be places like grocery stores, restaurants, bars, Laundromats, bowling alleys, public libraries, etc.

Here is the list of free advertising websites that seem to get the best exposure when people are doing searches for what they want on the Internet. Some of them are even international as far as where the ads reach, in case there is someone who might read what I have posted who wants to advertise on an international level. There are sites that don't get good exposure and, I don't use them. A person would have to be a member of and frequent those particular sites in order to know what is listed on them. I even post on sites that are located in other countries because the exposure is so good!

I need to go now, brelee. I'm not at home on my own computer, but will be home and also back on here after a few hours if you would like to share any more information or ask any other questions.

Depending on what you might want to do, if there are any additional questions, then depending on what the questions are, it might be best to start a new thread in another topic area.

But, if you do have any additional questions right now, I would first suggest letting me know what they are before you post them elsewhere.

Okay?

Thanks!

I think the biggest problem I have to face is how I can translate the Chinese adv into English one and make it attractive.

En... en...
It expess hesitating. Do you know "friends". They usually use this word.

I have taken much of your time.
If I meet any problem when advertising, I will post it here, you can answer it anytime.

Clough
Oct 10, 2008, 12:36 AM
Hi, brelee!

I'm here right now, but not for long. I know that you can do the translating. I know that I can help you, once you have done the translating, to make your ads worded better in English.

My suggestion would be to start another thread in Business Plans titled, How Can I Word My Ads to Get the Most Exposure When People Search for Things on the Internet. Or maybe, How To Word Ads the Internet to Get the Most Exposure.

Now, the first title might be a little too long for the space that is available here. But, if you start something like that I will be able to change the title so that it's most effective for this site.

If you would like to post some ideas for the new question on a new thread right on this one, we can discuss things here, and I would really like to do that. But, it is very late for me and I do have some obligations that I need to meet... today!

I'm not saying that I can't continue for at least a little while, but that I can't continue for all that long.

If you're talking about the television show "Friends", then I don't know, because I don't watch television in my home. I'm usually busy practicing music or doing other things, like helping people on this site.

Looking forward to your reply here!

Thanks!

Several adv webside need advertiser to provide US address , zip code and phone Number.Since our company is located in China, do I have to give up to adv on these websides?

Clough
Oct 13, 2008, 03:16 AM
Hmmm, brelee!

That's not something that I've encountered before. Did you check out all of the websites that I listed as far as what they require for you to join them?

A lot of them operate on an international level and so, I would think that the ones operating on an international level would be taking into account the different contact information that might be provided by the person that wants to join the website.

Thanks!

brelee
Oct 13, 2008, 06:39 PM
I can provide them our Chinese tel number and fax number...

The webside need American information to register may just aim at American suppliers and demanders, just forget it.

I have adv on the other webside you have provided, I will focus on these one and keep it updated.

Thanks

If I remember correctly, I did offer to help you, on the other thread that you started, so that you can word your ads the most effectively. That offer still stands. I can also help you to word responses to people when they do respond to your ads.

Yes, of couse. That will be a great help.

Here's the customer's reply:
We are interested in two of the furniture pictures that you have online,I'm guessing that shipping to the United States would be cost prohibitive? Have you been able to successfully ship here before.. The postal code in the United States is 66202 (Kansas City).

Should I just reply the shipping cost?

Hope I'm not disturbing you much

Clough
Oct 17, 2008, 12:25 AM
No, your not disturbing me. One of the reasons that I like being on this site is for questions like yours!

Would you please list here the title of the ad to which the person responded, please?

Doing that wouldn't be using this site for advertising, because you will not have listed any content of the ad, contact information or links to anything.

Just please list the title, without the name of your business in the title if it might have been there. I'll take it from there.

Thanks!

The title of the ad?

Reclaimed ship wood furniture

Clough
Oct 17, 2008, 12:37 AM
Thanks! Does your ad appear on any links of the first and second pages of the following search, please?

brelee

brelee

Our furniture is made from reclaimed ship wood.

The complicated veins on the wood is the history of these old ships.

The wood from the old ships will still be the silent old wood, even it has witnessed many events in the past, and even it has been buried under the sea after thousands of years. As time goes by, no matter how the human beings change its destiny, it remains silent like a man with wisdom.

...
Something like that

I cannot find your enquiry.
The customer send email to me.

I'm still writing the reply letter...
I will be back tomorrow.
See you ^^

Clough
Oct 17, 2008, 01:57 AM
If the customer didn't leave any name for themselves or even a company, then I would strongly suspect that the inquiry would be spam. As such, it may not be wise to respond to them.

I'm concerned about your getting spammed by someone who is just looking for email addresses to send spam to.

If you are writing a response to them, or anyone, please do post it here before sending it, again without any names or contact information so that I can give you an idea as to how you might make it the most professional that it could be.

If that ad is an example of what you have put out on the Internet, we really do need to work some on your wording so that things are the most attractive and professional.

It's best not to get all that excited about some responses that you get. The legitimate responses you get, will be because of the professional way you have worded your ads and also, people that are genuinely credible when responding, are going to be giving you their name as well as the name of their company in their response.

Thanks!

Thanks!
