Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anybody could answer a couple of my questions. I am 7 weeks pregnant at the minute so still in the vital stages. And my hormones are raging!! I no its perfectly normal and I have all the healthy signs like morning sickness, sore chest and fatigue etc. I've had a little cramping (like menstrual cramping) on and off. Nothing to severe though. I've been reassured by my midwife that this is perectly normal as my uterus is stretching and growing. I should only ever have cause for alarm if I have any bleeding. But early today my partner and I had a stupid row. The horrible type where your hearts racing and your just so so cross. It was a stupid row and we both really regret it. (a lesson soon learnt for both of us) as were worried it could bring on a miscarriage. I no stress can contribute but will this silly 10minute row harm my baby? We've sworn to each other to never row like this again but were so worried!!:(

Its perfectly normal to have miscarriage fears. Virtually every woman has them, and not with just the first child.

It is caused by a rise in hormones and is considered one of the symptoms of pregnancy actually.

And, no, a 10 minute argument will not hurt, unless he laid his hands on you, which I am assuming he didn't.

Thanku for your prompt reply. I needed it!! No he never touched me physically. He isn't like that but thanku so much for your concern. :) I just was abit stressed about it all as every time I seem to get a little upset or my heartrate speeds up a little my tummy starts to ache. The doc says its because my blood flow is sped up. But I was just so so worried as my heart was just racing I was so mad. We were arguing over nothing!! I've never shouted like it before and I'm so so ashamed. We both are! I'm just so concerned I've harmed my baby. Thanku 4 your reassurance xxx

I can assure you that your heart rate did not affect your baby negatively. We all get scared in pregnancy, usually right at the beginning and then again at the end. As a mother of 4 I can tell you that it happened to me every time. As a labor and delivery nurse I see it all the time.

It's just your protective nature taking over. ;)

You've really really eased my mind. Thanku so so much. Ypur right I am so so protective and attached to my baby. I'm trying not to be as I no it could still go horribly wrong as I'm only 7 weks gone, When it comes to miscarriage though, what happen does it hurt and you bleed right away? Or is it gradual? Would I no I was having one? thanku 4 all this help. I haven't had my first proper midwife appointment yet its in 2 weeks as you can probably tell :)

Every miscarriage is different. And it all depends on how far along you are in the pregnancy as well as where the fetus has implanted. While some women have only mild cramping and slight bleeding, others have severe cramping and severe bleeding.

It is estimated that 90% of women have had miscarriages and have never even known they were pregnant.

I'm just going to try my hardest to relax. I never even used to worry about miscarriage. It never crossed my mind until when I started the cramping my docs was very busy. So I went to another gp at my practice and he just said your miscarrying and go home there's nothing we can do. He has a unsympathetic reputation but I got appointed him for my appointment. My midwife was very cross with him as it was the total opposite that was happening. Just my uterus stretching. So since then its always been in the back of my head a little. But I have my midwives and your professional advice so no I should be OK. Thanku so much form the bottom of my heart. Needless to say no more rowing for us xxx
