52" Quick Connect Ceiling fans are already installed in our new house with no light kits attached. The remote does work to control the fan.

We purchased the Light Kit from Home Depot and I followed the installation instructions. But the lights won't turn on.They do have pull chains but nothing works to turn the fan on.Is there something I am missing?

Chances are pretty good you will need to get a new universal remote kit. If your fan came with fan only the remote may not even have a light button, does it? If the receiver and remote do have a light feature did you connect the receiver blue wire to your light?

The remote does have a light button on it. I tried pulling the pull chain and then hitting the light button on the remote. Nothing seemed to work to get the light on. I did connect the Blue wire to the black wire and the white wire to the white wire.

Blue to what black wire. The receiver should have a black, blue and white coming from it. The light kits should also have black, blue and white. Black to blue sounds like you are mixing a fan hot with a light hot. Did you put a tester to your connects and test for power?

Open the fan at the ceiling and check and see if the blue wires are connected there.

The Hampton Bay light kit only have two wires in it. A Black and White. There was no Blue wire in the kit and the instructions only mentioned a blue wire from the light cap.

I will open the fan at the ceiling tonight to see if the blue wires are connected there.

OK I understand your situation better. The white goes to the white from the receiver as a common neutral. The light black wire should go to the receivers blue wire. If the receiver does not have a blue, just black and white, your receiver can't handle a light kit.

Inside the fan's switch housing, light kit black connects to fan's blue, white to white.

In the ceiling: fan's black-white-blue to receiver's black-white-blue.

You're missing the bit in the center where it connects to the fan.
