Hi, First time poster here.

I recently replaced a set of three Gerber stems from Danco for my shower. The center Diverter stem, when I first installed it, would send water through BOTH the spout and shower when engaged for the shower.

I took it out, and before re-instaling it, I centered the diverter stem halfway between in and out, then replaced it. It is better, but it still sends quite a bit of water through the tub spout when in Shower mode.

Can anyone help me understand the best way to install these stems?

Thanks very much for any help you can give.

Did you buy an entire stem replacement of just new washers. If you got a complete stem compare it to the old one. They must be the same length. When installing a stem it is best to have it completely backed out or open.
