My best friends hates me. I took her to California and she bought a pipe for her friend but I'm 18 and she's not so I used my id for it and kept it in my purse, well me being dumb I sent my dad out to the car to get my purse but then I was like actually just get the charger from it and of course he saw the pipe. He didn't question me until I got home well at that point I didn't have it anymore, I already gave it back to her and I lied to my dad so he searched my whole room and couldn't find it and I was like you know what dad I don't have it *** has it and he was like I knew she was up to something and I was like no dad she bought it for a friend we don't smoke and he was like who does so I was not me and her but she thinks I said that she does with her other friend and now she hates me but anyway my dad gave her a chance to give it back but she never did so he called her parents and told them everything she hates me and thinks I'm a rat I feel like *** we have been friends for 14 years

You helped her buy something that she was too young to buy. Your Dad caught you with the pipe which really concerned him. The evidence is missing, because she took it to give to her friend.

What you and she did was "illegal." What your Dad did, calling her parents was right in line with his being a good parent. Her being angry at you is what it is, perhaps unfortunate. The long-term relationship shared with this girl has been shown for what it is.

If she is a true friend she'll realize that you were not trying to screw her over. If she keeps her distance from you now, maybe she'll grow out of it. If she never grows out of it, consider yourself lucky to have a great Dad and to have discovered that her values differ from yours.

Well, after 14 years of friendship - if she can't take you at your word- what kind of friendship was it?

Give her time to cool off. She will probably come around. I doubt very seriously that if her parents were grilling her - that she would have done anything differently that what you did.
