I have a kenmore series 90 electric dryer model number 110.67902790 which is about 10 years old. We replaced the heating element about 18 months ago for the first time because the cloths were not getting dry during the normal cycles. At that time, we did a thourough cleaning of the inside housing area. Now our dryer has begun to stop mid cycle. It stops at different points in the cycle on both the timed and sensor settings. When the dryer stops, you cannot start it for a while, when you push the button nothing happens. After a while you are able to start the dryer and it will run again maybe for 10 minutes, maybe until the end of the cycle. It is intermittent.

Is this the motor, the thermol couple, the timer, the temp sensor, or the circuit board? How do I test to find out? Is 10 years too long for a dryer in a family of 6 and should I just put it out to pasture and buy one of those new fancy dryers?

I can't comment on anything but the last question -we had our Kenmore for 24 years before it gave up the ghost, with some minor repairs along the way - so 10 years old is just a baby, it's worth a few bucks investment to keep it running
