But a basic setup if your satellite box has a video in (most do) then you would do this way:

Dish
}Sattelite Reciever>TV
Dvd

OR if DVD player has Video In

Dish>Satellite Reciever>DVD>TV

Alternatevely you could use a video switch

I have a dish HDTV model VIP722 DVR and dish people have connected my receiver in two av-1 In connection on TV and my dvd recorder to AV2 but now I can not record program from TV to dvd
