Our GE Ice Maker Model # GTS18ICMBRWW would not fill up with water to freeze ice cubes. We purchased a replacement water valve but are not sure exactly how to install it.
If we have installed it properly what else could be the problem?

Roxxie707 - When you installed the new water inlet valve - Did you nake sure water was comeing threw the ware line up to the valve ? Did you turn the water back on to the warer line Check to make sure that you pulled the actuwating arm was puilled back down? When you change one out it sometimes takes 24 hours for the thing to start making ice again, you can take the front cover off the icemaker a and using a small common screw driver yoy can very easy and slowly turn the big wheel to the right, and do this a few times until you see water comeing into the ice maker4. Do not force it. Now before you do the other things (Check where the water comes out into fill the ice maker . Some times it will freeze up with ice, not letting water get threw, If there is ice , when mama isn't looking go and grab her hair dryer, turn to low setting and hold fairly close and moveing up & down Or sideways. Melt the ice a ndthen you should be back in buness. Don't forget to tell mama thanks for the use of the hair dryer. :: F.B.E.
