What is the percentage for ssn withholding with medicrte

My research says Indexed annually, your 2008 Social Security withholding is 6.2% of your wages up to $102,000. Your Medicare withholding is 1.45% of your wages, without limit.

What? SSN means Social Security Number. What are you asking?

The latest cap on SSN withholding is $106,400, though I believe that, sometime in the next five years, the cap will be removed to require those who earned more tha $110,000 to pay 6.2. on all earned income (and possibly other income sources as well) without an increase in benefits..

Percentagte is 6.2% for Social Security and 1.45% for Medicare.

Also - in 2013 the tax for medicare will increase for households making over $200K/year: to 2.3% on wages over $200K, and a new 3.8% medicare tax on unearned income (dividends, capital gains, annuities, etc) if your AGI is over $200K.
