Hi,
I am beside myself with worry for a man I love very deeply. My partner of 4 years has moved out of the family home back to his parents after his newly opened mortgage company began to fail, due to the infamous credit crunch. I believe he feels he is a failure and feels he can't give me what I want. He's almost blaming me cause of all the arguing but fails to see his distance due to stress caused it. I have made the biggest mistake ever by pressurising him to come home and try again... he tells me he is happy at the moment with his own company!! He has lost so much weight, he tells me he just needs time, do I give him the time but tell him to stay away from me?? Seeing him or having contact is hurting me, but I want to help him... please help I am so lost, feel like my heart is braking.

Give him time, if that's what he is asking for. The more you push him and contact him, the more hurtful it seems its going to be for both of you.

I agree. He asked for space and time, give it to him. One thing you might do is to write him a letter and tell him what you just told us! It will give him something tangible to look at and remember that you are still there for him, this economic crisis is not his fault, and more importantly, you love him! We all need to hear that.
One more thing.. be good to yourself! You have no control over him or what he chooses to do, but you DO have control over YOU. Take this time to figure things out for YOURSELF... what's best for YOU in the whole scheme of things. Do something special for yourself. You both deserve I!
Best to you! Hope it all works out!
