I am interested in what kind of salary a live in nanny gets. There are four children ages 9, 10, 13, and 15. They live with their father. He wants to start long haul truck driving to make a better living for them all. He would be gone for approximatley 6 weeks at a time and then home for 6 days for the first 2 years. Afterwards he would then be able to drive more locally and be gone only a few days at a time. He would need someone to live full time with the children and do everything. Apart from a salary what other expenses would he have to pay the nanny such as car insurance, room and board, food, a vehicle to drive, etc. Is it even possible to find someone to be this full time?

This is asking a lot, it would be a 24 hour job, 7 days a week.

What happens if you are 1000 miles away and the nanny just quits?

I had a nanny for the my 4 boys back in the 80's, now this was 20 years ago, they got 1 day a week off, worked 10 hour days was furnished a car to drive, all living expenses and 200 dollars a week.
That would be closer to about 400 a week now on top of all living expenses.
