My bathtub faucet was dripping so I changed out the cartridge. It still continues to drip. I did notice that when I turned off the cold water completely it still dripped the same amount. Does anyone have any possible solutions?

Did you grease the cartidge with plumbers grease or silcone jel when you installed it? You might also want to check your valve body for nicks or scratches on the cylinder or nicks on O rings.

Not sure if I am replying right but the cam which went into the sleeve insert was greased when I purchased it and then was inserted into the cartridge, which was not greased. Would this make a difference? Is there anything to do if the valve body has nicks or scratches?

Thanks for your help, mdold

If the valve body has nicks they can cause a drip because you no longer have a perfect sleeve. Very light sanding with fine emery cloth may help but add grease to the slleve before inserting the cartridge. If it still leaks you might have to replace the entire valve body, can you tell us the brand?
