There is no heat on my electric dryer. I am not good and scared of electricity, but also have been out of work since June and am single mom 2 kids (clothes keep coming) and must fix this myself. Can anyone guide me through what to check. It runs fine, but is not in the least bit warm. I have changed all the button settings, checked the breaker, cleaned the filter - vacuumed as far as I could in the exhaust tube. Help!

Carolynhs, do you own and know how to use a ohm/volt meter? You may get some info on this problem by going to Free Appliance Repair Help, Troubleshooting and finding Parts (http://repair2000.com) good luck

carolynhs, the meter is not very expensive, you can buy them at about any big store. If you get one and want, I'll try and walk you through some simple tests. Good luck

I am trying to borrow one right now so will be back in touch hopefully by 1 EST. Where would you first suggest I start the testing? Thanks SOOOO much!

On a prob. Like this I would first check the voltage where the wire connects to the back of the dryer, you will need to be very careful, this test is very dangerous, you can be electrocuted.
