Two day baby should definitely not be given over the counter meds. You need to take him to his doctor for recommendation. Be Safe, not sorry :)
Anyway, think about it, babyauzzie, how would you administer this med even if you could ? You couldn't add it to a bottle of formula, or breast milk.

No, I was told not to give ANYTHING over the counter. Just get a humidifier in the room and you can buy the menthol Johnson's baby bath and lotion... give baby bath, dry and give a nice massage. Keep nose dry, baby bundled, head covered and do as you have been. It should pass and tickle is right "better safe then sorry"!

You need to discuss this with your pediatrician. It would be dangerous for us to advise you on medications for a one week old.
When giving meds though, you can put the meds in a nipple and let the baby suck them out of the nipple. However, it is common for infants of this age to have runny noses.

Well my doctor had me use the Aspirator when my son got a cold at 3 weeks. That is the only method they recommended

The have them for real... they are little bulb syringes that suck out of the nose and/or mouth.
They look like this:

Yes that nose things works great on babies, my oldest baby is in his 30's and we always had them.
Could not know what life would be without it.

The bulb syringe you can get from the hospital or you can buy a nasal aspirator with a shorter stub in the baby aisle. Check with your baby's doctor, some will suggest using a couple drops of saline prior to using the aspirator (if you are breastfeeding you can use drops of breastmilk the same way)
If it is not bothering his feeding or breathing, and he doesn't have a fever, you don't need to do anything. New babies will often have runny noses or sneezing as they continue to clear their system.
Obviously, keep an eye on him and check in with his doctor if you are at all concerned.

If you are boyfriend, you could sqirt a little breast milk up his nose before you suction it. It won't hurt him to aspirate it, and it is just as effective as saline.
