My question is in regards to wage garnishments in the state of Georgia. What types of debit can I be garnished for in Georgia? Will filing bankruptcy keep me from having my wages garnished?

You have reopened a question from 2006 - no one will see this and it should be its own thread.

Garnishmen CAN be filed in Georgia; if you file in Bankruptcy, yes, once the proper papers are filed, the garnishment will stop.

The creditor needs to get a Judgment against you before filing any type of garnishment UNLESS you have signed some type of automatic garnishment/bank withdrawal form, such as with a payday loan company.

Its not a good idea to piggyback your question on someone else's. This can lead to confusion. You should start a new thread. So I've moved your question to its own thread.
