Hi there... I am in a peace studies class and I have to write a research paper on a group of my choice, so I chose the Quakers, a religious sect of the Christian religion. I have a rough draft of a thesis that I could use, but I'm not sure if it is clear enough and how I would go about writing and researching for my paper. I really wanted to focus on the religious aspect of the Quakers' belief on peace studies, but I wasn't sure how to form that into a thesis.

Here is my preliminary thesis so far: The Quakers' have remained successful in nonviolence and pacifism due to their strong convictions and dedication to the teachings of Jesus Christ.

I wouldn't write a thesis yet, because you'll have to prove whatever you have in the thesis. I would research, figure out the scope of the information, then formulate the thesis on the basis of what you can prove.
