Other sinks in house give no odor when turned on.
Kitchen sink plumbing and disposal are connected to a Whirlpool dishwasher.
The smell occurs when first turning on the cold water and then clears after about ten seconds.
The dishwasher drains into the top of the disposal under the sink. No smell from there.
Can water be syphoned from stagnant supply to dishwasher??
Any ideas??

Are you asking if there can be a crossconnection between your cold water to the sink and the discharge into your disposal? It's doubtful since most dishwashers only connect to hot water. What does the cold water smell like? Does it smell musty? Like rotten eggs? Did it just start up or has the odor been ongoing for some time? Let me know. Tom

I was asking if the supply connection to the dishwasher can be syphoned into the "T" supply to the faucet when the dishwasher is not running. The odor (musty, rotten) stopped for a while when I changed supply line hoses.
