I have been providing full care for a 18 month old baby girl 6 out of 7 days a week, the mother of this little girl is young and unsure of how to care for this baby, she hardly can afford to feed herself much less this child. She was unable to get clothing for this baby it was all given to her by strangers. The baby is going through serious separation anxiety ( you can not walk out of the room with out her screaming) I want to help this child. The mother wants me to teach her how to be a good mom, which would mean id have to call her every 2 hours to remind her to feed the baby change the baby throw the diapers away bath the baby, put up the baby gate... HOW DO YOU TEACH SOMEONE TO BE A MOM? Do I have grounds to fill for custody of this baby? Should I ask the mother to sign her rights over to me?

You need to call Social Services.

One of the resources they can provide are parenting classes for newer parents.

Another option is to call CPS.

Asking her to sign her rights over to you may be considered coercion later, and that's one of the few ways an adoption can be overturned.

Contact your local social services on your own behalf, and ask what you options might be.
