I'm looking for an affordable life insurance policy for my husband that is $50,000. He is 54, never smoked. To me affordable is under $100 per month.

Have you tried an insurance company?
You can also Google life insurance and fill out apps on the internet.
Good luck.

Hey guys some of us sell insurance, but not though this web site.
First 30 year, can I guess you mean 30 year term, or is it 30 year paid life, One will gain cash value ( but costs a lot more) and the other is cheaper
And at 54 looking for 50,000 he has dozens of options under 100 if he is in good health, one of my favorite is Mutual of Omaha, a older secure company but there are many

Contact an independent life insurance agent and have him run some quotes for you to get the best quote for your money. There are a lot of insurance companies that actually want nonsmokers and reward them accordingly offering them more coverage for the money. If you want a 30 year term it will cost less than a 30 year policy that will accrue cash value. Usually for a 50K life insurance you will be quite limited. Try for 100K and you'll get more choices. You'll probably pay about the same in the long run for the 100K policy if you shop around and get lots of quotes.
Also, his overall health is taken into consideration by the insurance company, not just the nonsmoking part. If he has good health and does not have diabetes, heart problems, liver problems, etc. he will get much better rates. Also, if he takes a medical exam and has good scores in that, he will get a lower rate as well. The insurance company pays for the medical exam and any blood work needed for the policy. Also if his parents are alive helps as well or they were older when they died. Also family medical history plays another factor.
Also, if you have good credit, this will help you get a lower rate as well.
There are many, many different factors involved when you want to have a company insure your life.
