Hi, my dads truck is acting up and won't start when it gets below 1/4 tank of gas.. We have checked that is not an innaccurate gas gauge , we have taken it to a chevy dealership and got a mechanic to put a code reader on it and it shows nothing. Mechanic can't figure it out without spending many hours searching the truck.. If anyone could help that would be wonderful.:confused:

Have you checked the fuel pick up unit? There may not be enough pressure at the bottom of the tank to make it work properly.

Have you checked to make sure that there's nothing causing the float in the tank to be held up, which would make it read that it still has fuel?

Not knowing exactly what truck you have, my first thought is if you have changed the fuel filter recently?
