I really need some help on a lab report I'm supposed to write tonight. I've missed six days of school in the last two weeks from being sick and I think I'm missing some of the teacher's instructions that I got from a classmate.

This is our first lab report and our lab was to determine the affects of oxygen and water on the germination of mustard seeds. Each petri dish had 50 mustard seeds, one dish had tap water added to it with a cover on top, one dish had tap water with no cover and one dish had distilled water with a cover on top. Each person was only to do one petri dish, not all three. I have the data (given to me by my teacher for the entire class showing the results).

Here's my questions:

When I do my method and materials do I include that the other classmates did the other petri dishes that I didn't do? Do I include all of the data from rest of the class as a whole, Ex:

250 dishes w/ cover 123 germinated - 200 dishes w/o cover 164 germinated

Or do I just use my results of the one petri dish and compare them to the average germination of each other type of petri dish? HELP PLEASE!

Thank you

It would be great to give your teacher a call today and ask him/her. Most teachers welcome calls from students who want to get things right, even on Sunday.

If you can't call, do your best. See the teacher on Monday before the class. Show him what you have done and ask if its correct. You may have time to fix it before class.
