A coworker of mine always talks about how nice syracuse, ny is and lately my husband and I have talked about moving north around syracuse possibly. Is Syracuse as nice as I have heard?

I went to college in Syracuse in the early 90s. My greatest memory of it is the snow! The first snow would usually come by Halloween and it wouldn't let up until mid April.
