You don't use glue. You use Shielded couplings on the Cast Iron pipes bald end, (see image). Good luck, Tom

Dles911:

You don't use an adhesive... you use a clamp. A shielded clamp to be specific... see picture below. These can be found at local home depot or Lowe's.

You just need to cut the hub of the cast iron pipe off using a sawzall with carbide blade (or angle grinder with diamond saw) and attach the clamp and then install pvc into that. If pipe is larger than 2" then can RENT a snap or ratchet cutter (see pictures) to remove hub and then proceed to clamp. You just need to know the size of the cast iron pipe and the size of the pvc pipe and order clamp as needed.

If absolutely need to use the hub then you would install a cast iron hub gasket (see picture... sold at plumbing supply house) into cast iron hub and then soap up the inner ring of gasket and push pipe into hub... or you could even lead a manhoff fitting into the hub and cement the pvc pipe into the manhoff fitting... so a couple ways to work with hubbed cast iron pipe. Let me know if need more info. On this..?

Is the cast iron pipe threaded, if so you can use a female threaded PVC connector also.
