My furnace is driving me crazy I have a Nordyne furnace 11 yr old with an heat pump. A few months ago the blower motor burnt up so I put in a new one also new capacitor and fan switch. Everything worked fine for a couple of months. Then one day I smelled burnt wire, checked my furnace and found relay shorted out. Replaced relay, furnace starts working again for a few weeks, then quit again. Decided this time transformer was bad, test showed bad also fan switch was bad again. Replaced these and in the process found two unused wires that had power, had shorted out and apparently been this way for a while. Replaced wires and was certain everything would be good to go. Yesterday I noticed blower would not shut off even though outside unit was off, nothing would shut off the blower except killing power. Did this and left house for a few hours. When I came home I turned on the power and the furnace stats working properly through 3 cycles on 4th cycle the blower keeps running again after outside unit shuts down. I have checked everything I can think of and everything seems to check out. After a few hours sitting idle I can turn the power back on and it works fine again for 3 or 4 cycles then next time the blower stays on. Any ideas I am stumped. Thanks, Randy

Is the furnace electric heat or gas heat ?

It's an electric unit by the way I hooked everything back up after I posted this problem and the unit has gone through 7 cycles working correctly I didn't really do anything other than put my meter on everything to check it out but for the last 2 1/2 hrs its been working correctly runs for about 10 min off for about 10 min seems like a quick cycle but the t-stat I put on it about a year ago seems to cycle much quicker than the old one. Like I said so far its working but I don't know how long till the furnace blower decides it wants to stay on... Puzzleing
