Are there any secrets on how to get my carpet smelling good without shampooing it? Other than that awful carpet powder stuff, it messes with my allergies. And my dog hates it too...

OK I have a solution for you but you and all pets, kids, etc... must be out of the house for several hours. Leaving bubby behind is optional. Rent a Ozone generator from a rental shop. Get a large unit designed to shock treat a home your size. The ozone will kill every living oganism in afew hours and then change back into oxygen.

Cherish, if your dog is peeing on the floor, then the pee is getting under the carpet into the padding where the moisture is a buffet for bacteria. There are living organisms in every household. Just because you can't see them doesn't mean they don't exist.

"I never mentioned the size of my home" I know, that part is up to you to tell the rental person. Tell them the square footage of your place and they will select the correct sized unit. I have a memory like a steel trap. Once it gets in there, it never leaves. Guess that's how I got through nursing school without having to study much.

Oh yeah, I have some of that spray. It does an okay job. I might just have to soak the carpet with it tonight before vaccuuming.
