My sons teacher keeps informing me that he is eating his crayons at school, but he only does this at school I have never seen him do this. Is this harmful and should I inform the Dr. of what he is doing. I ask him why he does not reply? Is he doing this for attention or does it mean something else.

I found this site, hope it helps;
- Accidents and Injuries (http://injury.findlaw.com/defective-dangerous-products/recall.feeds/cpsc/2000/06/00123.html)
It might just be a nervous habit, or it could be for attention. My daughter used to do this as well, I finally gave up and bought her felt markers. She stuck those in her mouth too, but quickly took them back out. Apparently crayons taste better. ;)
Have you tried pencil crayons? Perhaps ask his teacher if you can switch to pencil crayones, they're not as easy or tasty to eat. :)
