What is the code for installing wiring in the yard? I live in the state of Georgia and I had a waterfall installed. The electrician's wiring is no more than 6 inches deep and was not encased in any pipes. However, he says that is allowed with that type of wire. What is really the deal?

It can be as shallow as 12" under certain circumstances, but typically it needs to be 18".
