Hello am yasmine ,I was born in Alexandria,Egypt.Acutally My garmother is greek but she lost the documents that proves she's greek? I only have Name,Date of birth and City of where her father lived. Is there a chance of getting a greek nationality?? Can you help my find this military records of the municipality?? Thank you

It's impossible to proceed without original documents. You may need to file for replacement. By the way, I would recommend a consultation with Greek immigration attorney... in order to obtain details and learn about possibility, etc.

The embassy won't respond to you if you don't have a solid case and original documents.

If it is just your grandmother that is Greek, it may be difficult to prove claim of citizenship all the way down to you [although not impossible].

If you still live in Alexandria, go to the Greek Consulate and see what they can do for you. There was a clause in the Greek Citizenship law that allowed Greek residents of Egypt who were inscribed in the "Consulate Registers" to be considered full Greek citizens. However, that provision in the law expired when the new Nationality Code went into force in 2004.
