Hello there! This website seems to have all the answers!

1) I am able to "pop the clutch" and the car runs fine.

2) When I turn the key to the "on" position all the dash lights come on and I can hear the main relay click and the fuel pump buzz.

3) When I turn the key to "start" position there is just silence.

4) I have checked the fuses under the dash and in the engine and they are all in tact.

5) I have replaced the starter, main relay and clutch safety switch with no luck. I am pretty sure that it's the ignition switch but I wanted to see what you think.

If it is in fact the ignition switch:
Do you think I need to replace the entire ignition switch set-up or just the key lock cylinder? And, is it something I can do myself?

THANKS!

Replace the ignition switch:

1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Remove dashboard lower cover and knee bolster.
3. Disconnect 5-P connector from under-dash fuse box and 7-P connector from main wire harness.
4. Remove steering column covers.
5. Insert key and turn it to "0".
6. Remove two screws from switch and replace.

Easy job.

Thanks for the info!

Would I need to remove the steering wheel? Is there a enough space to remove the screws?
Is the main wire harness located under the dash also?

Is the install as straightforward as you mentioned?

No need to remove the steering wheel. Plenty of room to remove the screws. Once you remove the covers, you'll see what needs to be done. Don't let it intimidate you.

I've been reading that I need to "punch the bolt head" on the steering column bolts to remove them. What does this mean? Do I need a special tool?

Here is what I read:

"Removing the bolt from the steering column ignition assembly.

Replacing the ignition switch assembly using a punch.

-Punch the bolt head at 3'O clock.

-Slightly angle the center punch and punch the bolt out counterclockwise.

-Do the same to the other bolt.

- Once both are loosen continue to twist the nut using your fingers. "
