Hey guys, I need help figuring out the title to a book and it also is a movie. I believe it took place in the 70's or 80's in switzerland. Its about this boy named Danny who has a kitten and falls off a cliff and breaks his leg while trying to rescue the kitten. The doctors say he will always walk with a limp. His sister tries to find a doctor that will make him walk normal again. I saw this movie and read its book back when I was in like 6th grade. I want to see the movie again but can't remember the title. Please help! Thanks!

Reminds me of the 80's movie Danny's Egg, though the country was Australia and the boy rescues a baby emu.
