Hi,
I from basically from India, staying in NewBrunswick,Canada for the past 6months and I will staying for next one year or so.

I want to apply for H1B Visa, but I can't go to India and apply for that.
Can I apply for H1B from Canada.

If I apply from here, will that application be considered as a canadian application or the application will go to India and again I have to wait for the lottery.

Can you please let me know the process of the application if I apply from canada, bcoz the applications from canada are less compared to india, and there is every possibility that your application will be picked up and we will get the visa.

Thanks,
Bala

Maybe... if you maintain legal status in Canada. Depends on your conditions as well... for example, if you are student in Canada and would be graduated soon, you may not be allowed to have visa processed in Canada. Talk to your attorney.

No I am working for Satyam Computers Solutions Limited, and I came here as Onsite Consultant, here I am working for JDIrving Limited.
I will be staying here until May2009. So, I can't go back to India and apply for H1B and I don't want to fall in that lottery list.
My question is... Can I apply for H1B from Canada as an Indian... If I apply for H1B from here Canada, will this application be processed from Canada with out sending the application to India. I will have more chance to get my VISA if I apply from here...

Yes, you can apply from Canada but it does not give you any advantage.

Can you please let me know why ?
I think the people applying for H1B Visa's from Canada are comparatively less right..

No I haven't got any reply from these guys... but I searched for the info... many said that after applying it will be lottery to be picked up and later getting VISA comparitevly easier when your attending the visa interview at US consulate in Canada rather than in India... that will be the advantage if we apply from Canada as far as I know... please let me know if you have more useful info.

If you don't mind... where from Canada... I am in New Brunswick... planning to apply for H1B but the market slowdown is forcing some kind of fear in me... u can contact me on my mail [email protected]
