Replaced motor now spinning backwards

The blower motor in our furnace went out. It was making a loud pitch nose the night before and then locked up. I got the motor out of the housing and took it to the supply house and got a new one. Put it in and got it all wired up. Put everything back together and all seemed to be great. Looked a little closer and now it looks like it is spinning the wrong direction. What do you think I did wrong? Do I take everything apart and move the motor to the other side, It may not fit. Or did the wiring come out different? It did have extra wires for other speeds but I just capped them off. Per the instuctions.

There is a wiring diagram on the side of the motor. If the motor is reversible it will indicate it on the drawing.

Now if that motor has a plug type connector with two wires going into it on both sides you can just pull the plug apart and reverse one part of the plug then plug both pieces together. At this point the motor will run in a reverse rotation different than what it is running now.

You probably have a universal motor that will have 2 purple and 2 yel wires. Reverse them to change directions. i.e. If the 2 purple wires are connected, change it to purple to yellow or vise vesa.
