My father died in 1972 and I'm told he had children from a previous marriage (one boy and one girl) I believe from New Mexico but I don't know their names. His name was Richard Stanley Morse from Riverside/San Bernadino, CA. I do have my father's social security number and wonder if there is any way of using that to locate his child. We all did receive social security benefits while we were children.

This is so old I foresee problems -

Was his estate probated? If so, the next of kin are listed on the estate papers.

You would have to check with Probate Court in the County where he lived.

OMGoodness, this was my dad, he and my mom were divorced around 1957. I have an older brother, Michael Richard Morse, I believe he goes by Richard. My mom was also pregnant with another brother when they were divorced.
