Hey everyone. I want to connect my laptop to my HD TV via HDMI connection. However I don't know if can use a normal HDMI lead or if it has to be a special type. Also I don't know if my TV will allow computers to be connected because it only has an HDMI connection.
This is what the overview for my graphics card says about the HDMI connection:
HDMI output support
* Supports display resolutions up to 1920x10801
* Integrated HD audio controller with up to 2 channel 48 kHz stereo or multi-channel (5.1) AC3 supporting Dolby Digital or DTS, enabling a plug-and-play cable-less audio solution
Thanks.

HDMI is a special type of cable. There aren't flavors of HDMI and HDMI cables.

Just make sure you buy the right kind of HDMI cable. It would be awful to get all the way home from the store and find that the HDMI cable you bought was the wrong kind.

I was making a joke. You never believe anything we tell until you've asked the SAME question 3 times.
Just buy an HDMI cable. Stop asking about it, go buy one, any one, it doesn't matter.
Just buy one.
Go...

And after you buy it, just plug it in.
