And my butt cheek feels like it's going to fall off!
I have received this shot about 5 times so far and never felt anything before, during or after.
This time I didn't feel the shot either but 30 minutes after the shot my hip started to ache and now my whole butt cheek hurts...
What the heck?

Not even a wise crack...

I was being totally serious in a sarcastic way!
Has any one ever had this happen with any type of shot before?

The nurse said that it could have hit the muscle but that the pain should have been gone by now.
They told me I could come back in and they'll take a look at it, but there's nothing to look at.

I get this shot every month so I'm due back next week, they can look at the nothing then.
I'm wondering if I should even get it again or not.

Okay, here's wise crack until someone comes along who really knows about this sort of thing. Was this a drive-by or something else, please? :D

LOL Thanks Clough! It was a run by... she had to chase me around the examining table... I really hate shots!. :p

I woke up this morning with a big hard knot deep under the skin where the
Shot was given so I went and had it checked out. It's a hematoma, a blood
Vessel was hit when the shot was given and the blood has collected in a big knot.

It's possible that she hit a nerve. This is why it is so important to stand completely still during IM (intramuscular) shots, and remain completely relaxed.

Okay, NM, I read the latest post. The nurse did a boo boo, she should have poked you with the needle like a dart, then pulled the stopper back to see if there is any blood return. If there is no blood return it's okay to give the shot, if there is blood return she should have started all over on the other buttock.
