I have a two year old son with really bad eczema.
I have tried to keep him from scratching it but nothing seems to work
I have been to 3 dermatologist and they say the same thing he will out grow it.
Any help would be nice

Have you tried anti itch medication such as Gold Bond Anti-Itch Cream or the like... when my kids had chicken pocks I had to tape oven mitts on their hands to keep them from scratching until they bled. It helped. Good luck to you I know it's hard when they are that little and having Drs say they will grow out of it doesn't help the present situation

Anti itch creams interfere with the medication we put on him
And the gloves he figured out how to get out of them

Friendly piece of advice if you have eczema don't use (elidel) it will cause skin cancer

My sister has eczema and she figured out how to get the gloves off to scratch when she was about 2 too. She mainly used the scratch her wrists so my mom used to put her wrists in bandages at night. She sometimes managed to get them off in her sleep but it was a lot more successful than the gloves.
It took several years before she grew out of scratching but her skin is loads better now.

My son's dermatologist prescribed an antihistamine for the itch and hydrocortisone to clear up the rash. He was less than one year old at the time and it worked great. Good luck.:)

Aha, my 4 year old has this problem usually late in the winter. I have discovered the use of EUCERIN Dry Skin Therapy. It is a moisturizing cream. I get the stuff in a little tub, NOT THE TUBE (that has fragrances which interfere) this does not. I coat him with it thoroughly at night after a bath, also give a cool bath not warm or hot, that exacerbates skin problems. In the morning he wakes up smooth and itch free.

P.S. a little baking soda in the water may help the itching, it does for mine. Also some non-drowsy benadryl if it becomes too bad.

One more idea. Do you fabric softener in the dryer when doing laundry? If so, you may want to stop that for a while. Perfumes seem to aggrivate eczema. Check your laundry detergent also, get some with no dies or perfumes. Use a mild soap like Ivory also.
