Two weeks ago I was accepted by a smaller local company for a open position. They proceeded to put me through a series of tests which I passed with great scores and then they asked me for a face to face interview. At this employer they required I fill out a quick paper application. It came to the point where I can't recall what it said. It either stated write down any crimes committed in the last five years, or it just stated list crimes and convictions without a time frame. I put no and proceeded with interview which went perfect. A couple days went by and they called me and asked if I would accepted, I said yes and they gave me a time and place for physical, drug test and sent packet which I signed and returned. I had physical and drug test today along with some exrays. It was very extensive and took over three hours, I have never had one take this long. My question is. I was convicted of a Felony 10 years ago Malicious Destruction of Police Property, basically I got in the middle of a bar fight in a parker lot with friends and others and three bouncers pinned me up against a police car and a window shattered. I was charged and feeling stupid and ashamed because it was the only thing I ever did wrong plead guilty received probation. I paid my fines and behaved, probation ended in a year. Right now due to the extensive tests I had are they going to do the same for my background check? It is a driving/maintenance job, but like I said a small company with great benefits and pay. I am freaking out because I can't remember wording on application. I am tempted to come clean but if I call and tell them will it disqualify me. Or because it was ten years ago will it not be a issue being it was so long ago. I want to be honest but I really want this job, don't know what to do. By the way this forum is awesome!
Does anybody else have any helpful information about my question? I would really appreciate it!
