CEILING ROSE
Have tested my ceiling rose. Why do I have two black live wires and which one therefore goes to the switch?

Is this a continuation of a previous thread?

I want to wire a ceiling rose for connection to a light fitting. I need to establish which wire goes to the switch as nothing is marked. I am confused as there are two live black wires

I have to say, I don't know what a "ceiling rose" is. I know what a ceiling rosette is, but they are just a decorative piece that goes above a fixture canopy.
Sorry, maybe someone else knows what this is.

Webster call them medallions.
What do you mean two live wires? Do you mean you have voltage one each wire or do you mean you have voltage between them.

Is there any white wires? Tell us all the wires in the ceiling box.

Three white cables from the ceiling each with one black, one red and one earth wire inside
Usually one of the wires from the rose (black) is marked to indicate the wall switch wire as it is live.
