My dad did something very stupid, he wrote on the deed before he died and never cared to get it fix. So trying to take control of the property the deed is no good. Now I am trying to get the deed change how do I add my brothers and sisters on the deed.

Hello your dad would not have the original deed, the original deed is filed in the court house, he would have a certified copy of the original but not the original. So unless he wrote a new deed and filed it before he died, his writing on his copy means nothing.

If you are on the current deed, that will make it easier depending on how you are on the deed, if you are not on it, just the dad, you will need to go though probate to get a new deed.

In every state that I know of, an original deed is recorded in the county clerk or county register's office. The clerk keeps a copy of the recorded deed and the original, with the recording information stamp, is returned to the property owner. Once the deed has been recorded and returned to the property owner, it doesn't matter if they write on it, spill coffee on it or throw it out. The original deed is not needed in order to transfer the property.

You need to find out who the current title owner is. You can do this by going to the county clerk's office yourself and looking it up or you can contact a title company or real estate attorney. Once you know how the title currently reads then you can work on adding whoever needs to be added.
