My son overheated my Civic and blew the head gasket. I replaced it along with all gaskets as well as the timing belt. Everything is hooked up correctlly but it won't start. The engine turns but it but it will not start. I did crack the cam sensor. Would that prevent it from starting? Do I need to replace the sensor? I have 122,000 miles and have been doing all the maintenance work myself. What else could it be? Please I need help I am still making payments and my warrantee is out so I can't bring it back to Honda.:(

After blowing the head gasket, did you have to machine the head and repair any damaged valves?

Be sure to run a compression test on each cylinder. Yes, you need to replace the cracked camshaft sensor, which will definitely prevent the engine from starting.

I replaced the cam sensor, I have spark to the plugs and gas. It will still not start.
It turns over without any trouble and I replaced the timming belt. It is set to top dead center. I do nt have a code scanner. Before I buy one are there any suggestions?
