hi my name is dannielle i just had a daughter who was born on the 13th of august 08. i have not been with the father for over 6 months due to harassment, refusing to father the child and drug use/selling. i did allow him to come meet his daughter at the hospital and i do have visits every week with him since he wants to be able to see her& im just being civil & avoiding problems. he is moving to texas in a week and still doesnt want to work nor stop use or sell of drugs. i understand hes the father but he can't seem to get his act together and thinks hes going to be a rapper .i am looking towards filing for sole custody with reasonable visitation because i do have my daughter ,will be taking care of her, & the father lives far and is unfit. i need to be the one making the decisions regarding her life growing up. what are my chances of winning?

Your chances are 50/50 on any given day because no one can predict what courts will do. And if the NCP is going to get " reasonable visitation " then your chances are nil. Sole custody means exactly that. For him to have custody then the child would have to travel to where he is. Another thing is why you would want him near your child without supervision if he's using drugs ? You need to formalize the custody and support issues now before he leaves.

If the father even going to show up in court and fight for joint custody.? My guess not. And can you prove the drug use, is there convictions ? In fact if you prove the drug use, you should get supervised visits only.
