I have been trying to hook up my thermostat and I have had the hardest time I had my brother here to hook it up and bless his heart as much as he thinks he knows he does not know how to make the unit run properly because he has some wired confused so I looked at it myself last night and unhooked his mess then made a mess of my own I did get the a/c to come back on the problem I have is that the unit just keeps running so I am not sure which wires I have back wards and I am aware now that they are not color coded and that all 4 wires have to be hooked up in order for it to run right but I cannot get it to shut down. PLEASE HELP ME IF YOU KNOW WHAT I DID WRONG I am so confused.

If you do not have color coded wires this is what you are going to have to do. Go to the furnace or air handler which ever you have. This will be where the wires from the thermostat go to, there is a panel that that the wires connect to. One of the terminals will have a R by it, look at what color is connected to that R, now go to the thermostat and connect that wire to the Rh terminal on the thermostat. Now do the same thing with the wires connected to the W terminal the G terminal and the Y terminal. You will have other letters there one will be a C or Com. If the wires go the thermostat in one piece this should give you heating and cooling, if not post back on the post and I will tell you another way.
