I recently read a book and wanted to read another book by the same author, only to realize that I didn't remember the name or of the book or the author.
The story is set in the upper northwestern US (neear the rain forest). It is about "failed" child psychologist who helps a small child who was found alone in a small town. It is found that the girl was severely abused and neglected. The psychologist helps the "wolf girl" step in to civilization.
In the process the girl and the psychologist develop a mother/daughter type relatioship, when the girls father returns for his daughter who was kidnapped years before. In the end the father decides it is best for his daughter to return to the only home the girl has ever known, with the psychologist.
I am anxiously awaiting an answer!
Thanks!
