My Hampton Bay chandelier broke where the wiring passes through the center but passes out thruogh the sides with a approx half inch opening on both sides. This allows a threaded extension to be screw on which holds on a cover that covers up the wiring. I need that part since what I have explained broke off and how I can't close up the base of the chandiler. I have an open log with Hampton Bay/Home Depot but I want to work on this here just in case I can't resolve this with them. Any Idea where I can get a part like this?

I think I know what you're talking about the part you need is called a fixture hickey, and for a Hampton Bay fixture you are more than likely need a 1/8" X1/8" X 1" size. These parts are becoming harder and harder to find, but if you get lucky you might be able to find one at your local hardware store, or lighting store. I have also attached a link to the part that I think that you need.mylampparts (http://www.mylampparts.com/product_info.php?cPath=98_574_102&products_id=786&osCsid=1185c360671e8084934004032a80a9b5,1185c36067 1e8084934004032a80a9b5)

Lamp parts can be gotten at many places. In fact the big box stores all have small parts bins for this stuff. A "real" lighting store will definitely have what you need.
Tommy's link is a good example of a parts web site.

There is NO specific part you need. There will be several replacements and even whole new crossbar setups are possible.
