I was wondering if it's possible to graph from points instead of formulas? For instance y=2x+6 give you points of (-4,1) and (0,6). But is it possible to just enter the points in the calc somewhere and have it draw the same graph.

Thanks,

Jim

You can do it in Excel. Make a table with the x and y coordinates, select the table, click on the 'charts' button, scatter format, and on the chart which you finished creating, you can right click, look for some properties, then use the option 'fit an equation' to have the equation.

Thanks for the answer. I'm really trying to do this on my TI 84 though (for test purposes). Maybe it just isn't possible.

Thanks,

You can use the "Pen" option on the TI and plot

That's a pretty useful feature, but not quite what I was looking for.

Thanks,
