Hi,

Can anyone tell me the differences between active directory and domain controller in windows server platform:confused:

Active Directory is system for managing resources on a large network. It can encompass many domains, users, servers etc. A domain controller is a server used to manage a network domain.

Is it possible to have both in the same server and can you just give a basic idea of domain controller again

The two are different animal. You can have a domain controller on a network that uses Active Directory. They can even be on the same server.
