Hi!
I have a York HVAC system. Yesterday, the blower started turning off after a few seconds to a minute of running, then turning back on and off repeatedly every few seconds to a minute
I took apart the blower unit and cleaned it and put it back in (what a pain in the... ), making sure all the wires were replaced correctly. It ran OK for a few hours, but then started doing the same thing again; turning off after less than a minute of running and attempting to restart repeatedly.
This happens whether trying to heat or cool and doesn't change no matter what setting the fan is on (auto or on all the time). I noticed that the motor also gets fairly hot to the touch. The fan blades move easily and are still spinning when the motor stop running.
I tested the capacitor and it's good.
Is this an indication that the blower motor is bad? If not, what else could it be? If it is the motor, I would like to replace it, to save some expense... where can I get a replacement for a GE 5KCP39PG N812AS (1HP, RPM = 1075/3 speed, with capacitor 15/370)?
Thanks!!
Jason
