Hi All
Windows Vista does not start up every time on my PC and it is getting frustrating!! About one startup in 4 is a failure then usually I get it to startup after 1/2 restarts.
The Desktop will open but when I see only 2/3 Notification icons appear and no side bar, then I know the problem is here again. If I click on a Desktop icon then all will freeze. The only step then is switching off and on again.
I have carried out a system restore to a point when all was good but the problem is still there. I have defragged and all other maintenance steps.
Help Please
Mike

Have you run CHKDSK to check the volumes of your hard drive?

Hi to Apolagisenow
Thank you for prompt reply, Yes CHKDSK has been run with no faults detected.

Hmm then that means that there are no detected problems on the hard drive. But I still think there must be a problem. Have u run a virus scan?
