Still havenot received my tax refund and I am getting scared, I checked with them and they told that they were looking at my file, but haven't heard from them since.

Any ideas on what it could be... I know for a fact that they were correct

Could be an audit - lots of people file correct returns and get audited.

Could be two people claiming the same child. I got "held up" one year because one of my 1099's was corrected. The correction was sent to IRS but not too me. Easy to explain but it did cause a delay.

Just about anything can trigger a second look.

There could also be garnishments for back child support or alimony, other taxes owed to cities or states, old federal taxes owed, student loans, etc.

Go to Internal Revenue Service (http://www.irs.gov) and click "where is my refund?"
It you see a code, then you can post here for more information.
